Ottoman Silver Coin Pendant
A fun and jingly pendant made from four Turkish Ottoman period coins (legible dates range from Islamic years 1223-1255, roughly equivalent to 1808-1839 CE). One coin is almost worn flat and has a hole in addition to the bail, another is clearly a replacement on a copper ring but also of the same period. Crude solder marks suggest this piece was for local use.
Most components test silver, but other alloys are clearly present.
Weight approx. 31.4 grams
Dimensions of largest coin: 37.3mm, length of entire piece approx. 108mm.
