Unusually Decorated Turkmen Silver Focal Bead
This is a highly atypical example of an Afghan tribal silver bead. It has the usual filigree strip running around the equator (these are always two hollow hemispheres soldered together; the decoration hides the solder line), but also little decorated rosettes dotted around, which we have never seen before.
This bead would be fabulous simply suspended from a necklace chain or incorporated in a chunky beaded necklace.
Note condition: damage and dents from age and use, especially to one side with possible repair (see photos)
Approximate dimensions: 38mm long x 30mm diameter.
